The person

Saurav Gupta

Software engineer by profession.
True outdoorsy by passion.

I grew up surrounded by mountains — and mountains are what eventually brought me to Utah, a state that feels like it was made for people who can't sit still indoors.

By day I write software. The rest of the time I'm somewhere outside — on a trail, on the water, behind a camera, or figuring out how far I can push before my legs give out. Backpacking, hiking, trail running, biking, kayaking, road trips — if it involves moving through a landscape under my own power, I'm in.

Photography is how I slow down long enough to actually look at things. Running is how I process everything else.

In March 2026 I bought Pearl — a used teardrop trailer — to go further into the places I love without sleeping on the ground. She's small, purposeful, and already has opinions about where she wants to go. This site is the log.
